TYPEWRITER MUSEUM

The typewriter museum is a small museum in the heart of Parcines, a little village in Northern Italy. It has been dedicated to Peter Mitterhofer, an inventor borne in Parcines who has been credited with the invention of the typewriter. The museum contains more than 1,800 exhibition items, mainly consisting of different types of typewriters.
Since the museum had been struggling to attract visitors, as part of a university project I have been tasked with designing a new corporate identity intended to give the museum a uniform and strong public appearance. In order for the machines to be perceived as true treasures, my concept is based on representing the typewriters in connection with their historical backgrounds and events. The historical context was also taken up for the logo. The evolution of the typewriter is shown in the side profile.
